Frommages

After studying figure drawing, Art Club and Art II class created some frommages (fabric collages) They had to incorporate movement and frabic in some way. Here are three of the standouts.

The rest of the Relief Prints...

Another Printmaking project...this time some students used linoleum blocks and others used styrofoam. The goal was the same as last year's project, to create a print that conveys a message. Some of them are clearer than others, but they all are so creative!

More of the Monoprints....can't you totally see how the students have internalized Emphasis, Balance and Unity? :) This thrills me because we've had to start from the ground and build up with their art knowledge and this project really shows how the principles finally stuck....Hooray!

For our Printmaking unit we started with Monoprints.... Ok, so we learned that Plexiglass actually DOES work better, but for an art class on a budget, wax paper prints turn out just fine!

(these are supposed to be my students' personal symbols abstracted/created from Native American and African symbols...so for instance, one might mean loyalty, courage, and creativity)

Coming up next, Styrofoam relief prints a la Elizabeth Catlett!

Some of my art II students created these beautiful self portraits that were supposed to capture their interests and personalities... Let me know what you think!
